Serverius Datacenters is constantly enhancing it’s infrastructure and as such is adding redundancy, improving stability and performance, and adding new features.
For increasing capacity between DC1 and DC2, we hereby inform you about the upcoming maintenance:

Reason: Upgrade DWDM hardware on the line between DC1 Dronten and DC2 Meppel.
Impact: Line between DC and DC2 will go down.
Affected: – Clients with hardware in DC1 and Dc2 that use a crossconnect between the DCs will lose connection between DC1 and DC2
– Clients with hardware placed in DC2 and use the IP range from DC1 (These clients already received an email with instruction about necessary changes)

Serverius launches new German PoP
Serverius networking is proud to announce to open their new PoP at the datacenter InterXion Frankfurt Germany. This new PoP will add even more bandwidth capacity to the global Serverius BGP network and it will provide the lowest possible latency from Frankfurt Germany to the Netherlands.
The uniqueness of this PoP is the low latency fiber transport ring from Germany to the Netherlands. Not only 1 fiber path but a real non crossing fiber ring. One route from Germany Frankfurt – Hamburg – Groningen – Serverius datacenter DC2, the another fiber path through a straight line From Frankfurt to the Netherlands by the city of Zwolle to the DC2. All without any inference of Amsterdam! No other Dutch datacenter network is providing this.
This new PoP is the latest addition to the new network related services portfolio. Customers can use it for small vlan’s, 10G or 40G waves, direct fiber connections to use IP-transit, use the famous DDoS scrubbing services and much more.
The benefit of this new PoP to the Serverius network is the new direct connection to the DE-CIX, GE-CIX, China Telecom and some other full transit providers. Internet routes to Germany, Sweden, Baltic regions, Russia will go from now on by this new fiber route and PoP.
Sergey Petukhin, Senior network engineer of Serverius: “I’m very excited the our datacenter is the first and only in the Netherlands providing Amsterdam and German connectivity in 1 datacenter above sea level. The disadvantage of Amsterdam is that all datacenters are built on wet feet, so they are all below sea level. And larges disadvantage of Amsterdam is that connectivity is only routed via Amsterdam fibers, if Amsterdam goes down, there will be no alternative and all will be down… The world is changing and international clients want to use the best of both world in Europe. They want to save costs to use AMS-IX exchange and DE-CIX exchange connectivity for their European presence. In the past most of them just used one or both cities, but from now on that’s not needed anymore. From the Serverius core network the latency to Amsterdam is round 1ms and to Frankfurt Germany is about 5 milliseconds. In most cases it is more than acceptable for them.
Another advantage is that we can run our network without 1 part. For example, we can unplug all fibers to Amsterdam or all from Frankfurt and still have good internet connection to the rest of the world. With the new upcoming routing network this will go fully automatically. No other Dutch datacenter network can do the same, because all of them rely completely on Amsterdam fibers.”

upgrade by Huawei routers
Serverius announced the upgrade of their core routing environment by four new NE40E-X8A Huawei routers. This group NE40E-A universal service routers series will offer a wide range of hardware features like line-rate forwarding, a new well designed Quality of Service (QoS) mechanism, strong service-processing, and excellent expandability for future networking needs. With this all, Serverius will answer to the increased demand for low latency bandwidth by its datacenter users.
All four routers are equipped with redundant routing engine line cards, redundant power supplies, redundant carrier port routing line cards and more. With the highest level of HUAWEI TAC support it will provide the highest possible hardware uptime.

В сторону России быстрее всего будут скорее всего каналы от RETN, или российских провайдеров, подключенных к ams-ix или de-cix, к которым у нас прямые подключения.
Опять же говоря о скорости в сторону Востока, мы единственный датацентр в Нидерландах, у которых 2 независимых направления: через Амстердам и напрямую через Гамбург и Франкфурт. Путь фактически прямой по километрам, используя дорогую оптику от BT и RETN.
Наш функционал защиты делится на несколько уровней: на уровне bgp и транзитов (т.е. мы можем блочить некоторый трафик уже на уровне пирингов); firewall на уровне роутеров; huawei antiddos 8000 для аппаратного анализа и чистки; известные сигнатуры ботов и атак (обновляется); мозги и опыт (это самое сложное).
Из того что делается: более тесная автоматизированная интеграция с пирингами, добавление другой железки для дополнительной чистки от другого бренда, создание нескольких локальных точек для распределенной чистки крупных атак (свыше 100 гбит).

Новая версия ДДоС фильтра была представлена на CeBIT
Сегодня – наш второй день на CeBIT в Ганновере (Германия), где мы представляем новую версию нашей услуги ДДоС фильтра! В течении нашей 15 минутной речи на большой презентации, мы продемонстрировали несколько из 150 новых опций в панели управления клиентом. Кроме добавления функций в панель управления, также добавлены 5 новых решений в систему очистки трафика от ДДоС. Таким образом, мы предоставляем лучшую защиту против недавних, профессионально организованных ДДоС атак.
Наши клиенты обратили внимание, что дизайн и удобство использования панели управления поменялось. Все функции остались, вместе с дополнительными новыми решениями. Короткий список того, что было сделано:
В ближайшие месяцы наши программисты добавят несколько новых функций. Ожидаемый срок нового мажорного обновления будет через 1-2 месяца.

- Улучшенные уведомления: когда атака началась, в процессе атаки и когда закончилась, наш клиент и суб-клиент (если такой есть) будут получать общую информацию об атаках.
- Улучшенные отчеты. Внутри панели управления Вы можете сгенерировать детальный PDF отчет по любым предыдущим атакам. В отчете представлены технические детали атаки, которые Вы можете потом использовать для создания собственных настроек фильтра.
- Управление Вашими собственными настройками. Не просто пара опций, а настоящие настройки всех возможных вариантов для включения/отключения/изменения различных TCP, UDP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SIP фильтров. Ни один из известных нами анти-ДДоС провайдеров не предлагает такую детализаций управления настройками фильтров.
- Гибкая коммерческая модель. В предыдущие месяцы мы собирали отзывы от наших клиентов, использующих анти-ддос защиту. На базе этого мы разработали 2 варианта для наших клиентов: предоплаченное количество часов, или ежемесячную подписку на требуемый уровень защиты.
