Change in Your Amazon Web Services Terms of Service

How this affects you
In addition to its headquarters in Luxembourg, AWS Europe will have branches in 15 countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK. In these countries, the branches will be treated as a local vendor for VAT purposes. AWS Europe (headquarters and/or branches) will begin charging applicable VAT and providing valid VAT Invoices. Accounts with Tax Registration Numbers should be able to claim a credit for such VAT in accordance with their circumstances and local laws and regulations. (Besides the few exceptions noted here, accounts in countries and associated territories that are not listed above will not experience any change to their tax charge/collection.)
The AWS Customer Agreement has been updated with AWS Europe replacing Amazon Web Services, Inc. as the contracting party for accounts in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. By continuing to use AWS services after 1 July, 2018, you agree to this updated AWS Customer Agreement, which you can review here.

Things You Must Do Prior to 1 July
If you have a Tax Registration Number (also known as a TRN, VAT Number, VAT ID, or VAT Registration Number), visit the Tax Settings page of the AWS Billing Console and confirm/update the TRN and Business Legal Address for your account(s). The list of countries where AWS Europe collects TRNs, as well as the format of such TRNs, can be found here.
If you do not have a TRN or we do not display your country on the dropdown menu in the Manage Tax Registration screen, visit your My Account page of your AWS Console to confirm/update your contact address. Additionally, please visit the Payment Method page of your AWS Console to confirm/update your billing address.
If you pay by electronic funds transfer, update your internal systems to ensure payments are directed to the new bank account. This might include updating records in billing systems or open purchase orders. The new remittance information, including AWS Europe’s address and TRN, is available here. Note that your June invoice (issued in July) will still be issued by Amazon Web Services, Inc.

Notice of Change in Tax Rule in Russia

Pursuant to Article 174.2 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, beginning 1 July 2017, Alibaba Cloud will be required to charge Russian Value Added Tax (“Russian VAT”) at the rate of 18% on certain electronic services provided to individual (non-business) customers located in the Russian Federation. All Russian VAT collected will be remitted to the relevant Russian tax authority.

Alibaba Cloud is registered for Russian VAT as a non-resident taxpayer and is not required to issue Russian tax invoices. For further details, please refer to the website of Federal Tax Service of Russia at: lkio.gnivc.ru/en (English) or lkio.gnivc.ru/ru (Russian).

Alibaba Cloud will not be required to charge Russian VAT on services provided to Russian business customers. To determine whether a customer is a business customer, the Russian tax authority requires Alibaba Cloud to collect from the customer its Tax Registration Code (“KPP”) and Tax Identification Number (“TIN”).

To confirm that you are a Russian business customer, please provide your 9 digits KPP and 10 digits TIN to us via email at: support@alicloud.com.

If we do not receive both your KPP and TIN by 27 June 2017, we will treat you as an individual customer and will begin to charge the 18% Russian VAT from 1 July 2017 onwards.

Please feel free to reach out to your Alibaba Cloud business representative or our after sales support (through opening a support ticket) with any questions relating hereto.

Yours sincerely, Alibaba Cloud

Important Client Information: New VAT regulations effective 1 January 2017

Starting on 1 January 2017, a new VAT law from the Russian Federation became effective. These new tax regulations outlined in the law will be enforced for clients who are located in Russian Federation.

Because of this new development, we at Hetzner Online are now obliged to charge tax on products and services for clients located in the Russian Federation. Therefore, our end-users there will be required to pay the regulated 18% VAT.

Companies who can provide us with a valid Individual Identification Nummer (INN) will see no changes. Their invoices will not include the new 18% tax; however, it will include a note stating that the invoice is subject to the reverse charge mechanism. You can find further information about this at: npchk.nalog.ru/

If you have an INN which you plan to use for your VATs, we request that you enter this in your administration interface account in Robot by going to the following link: robot.your-server.de/contact

You will be obliged to pay higher gross prices that are the result of the new law if you do not enter a valid INN to your account by 13 February 2017.

For additional information on this subject, please see: lkioreg.nalog.ru/en

Please note that we at Hetzner Online will be enforcing these new regulations as soon as possible.

7. Did you know?
Individual price presentation and calculation
New VAT guidelines came into effect in the European Union on 1 January 2015 which newly regulate taxation within the EU Member States.

These changes oblige Hetzner Online in future to tax all products and services in the EU Member State where you as the consumer are resident. In view of the new regulations, Hetzner Online will be showing the tax rate for your country in future. Customers outside the EU are not affected.

As net prices are the same for all customers, different gross prices apply to customers from the various EU countries. For example, customers in England will be charged prices incl. 20 % VAT.

It is now possible for you to view gross prices which are country-specific on the Hetzner Online website as well as during the order process. The price is shown without VAT by default on www.hetzner.com. Select your country by clicking on the country flag to display the prices which are relevant to you.
